okay, i'll buy travel insurance beforehand

While eating guacamole and chips at a Mexican restaurant:

Me: "The Antarctica tour company cancelled all their 2009 trips. They realized that they can't fix up their new boat in time."

Tom: "They missed their ship date."

Me: "Ha ha. Anyway, it takes a lot of renovations to prepare the boat for Antarctic conditions. Their old boat, the MS Explorer, sank last November."

Tom: "Are you sure it's safe? Think about it -- they bought the new boat with the money they had left over from the first boat."

I couldn't help smiling at the name MS Explorer. Surely, no one would trust a ship with a name like that ...

So the image was provided by Tom as a powerup for his comment?

My old boss always used to call it the MS Exploder :)

You don't need the insurance. I'm sure the company learned from their last mistake and fixed the bug. The next rev will be patched and bug free.

Think about it -- they bought the new boat with the money they had left over from the first boat.

I'm not sure that follows.

Can I be the beneficiary?

Well, if she gets a pig before she goes, I think she will leave everything to the pig.

Hey, Leona Helmsley left millions to her dog...

I assume the travel company reimbursed you in full for canceling the trip? Travel insurance is more for those who have to cancel their trip because of illness or something like that...?

Heh, the pr could revoke the name of new ship to something like firefox, whatdya think? That would sound safer at least.
