First jog for Utah survival school. Goal: 9.5min pace 1.5miles. Actual:10.9min pace for .65miles.
A lot of people laughed at me for not running an entire mile. They greeted me with "Hey, how's the training going? Did you run 0.6 miles this morning?"
July 10:
10.04-min mile pace for 2.18 miles
Survival school starts in exactly 4 more weeks!

Does it really matter what other people think?
Here's a little Dr. Seuss for you:
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
Everyone has to start somewhere and few people are going to bang out a marathon after a long absence.
I do dispute that running is going to get you fit; it'll help you run, but you aren't going to get stronger. I would suggest incorporating some interval training if you aren't already so that you don't cannibalize your fast twitch muscles.
Two of my favorite body weight exercise books:
You are your own gym by Mark Lauren
Never Gymless by Ross Enamait
Keep up the good work.
You go girl! Almost there! :-)
Glad to hear that the surviving school will be CO ED! You're not going to meet any men if you went to an all women training session, right?
Hope you meet a hot hunk. I know from experience that the guys who do these types of these things are really in shape and really hot! Maybe this will lead to checking off another item on the bucket list.
That's why it's better to use the metric system: you can say you ran an entire kilometre!
(0.65 miles = 1.0460736 kilometres)
Units of measurement are fairly arbitrary anyway.
Speaking about survival...has everyone you know survived Carmageddon ? I know it is 500 km from where you live but still.
