At a San Francisco bar over the weekend, I discovered that the Indian guy standing next to me (friend of friend) was holding a rice hat.
He said he's moving the next day to the East Coast.
"You're going to use one of your carry-ons to transport the rice hat?" I said.
"No," he said. "I'll wear the rice hat on the plane, so that I can still have another carry-on."
...
He was kind enough to let me take a photo with his rice hat.

Reminds me of a rice hat i bought in Thailand. Definitely the kind of object you think is a must buy but that you will actually never use. Where is mine? I completely forgot...
I have a have a hat like that. It's in a closet. If you had one, we could wear them and look like a couple of stereotypes.
I don't have one, but I'll get one if we can wear them together. Where would we wear it to? Our lunch in Palo Alto?
when i was young, there are many straw hat in my hometown.its also good. that time we just wore them to swim and then threw away. cuz everybody can weave a wheat hat in just one hour or two.now i miss that.
Last fall, I saw a family board a plane w/ the parents & kids, each w/ 2 carry-ons, wearing bicycle helmets.
