it was Dan's description which won me over

Two months ago, I wrote a post about deciding between two beds, which I labeled A and B.

Out of 40 replies on my blog and FriendFeed, three voted for A and the rest for B. Responses included:

*B*B*B*

Dan: "B displays strength and grace with good proportion. A is a napkin doodle, a napkin doodle made by somebody trapped in a loveless marriage."

I say BBBBBBB!

I was momentarily swayed by the extreme nature of the votes, but in the end, I decided to get A. It arrived last month, and I finally had time to put it together a week ago.

Here it is in my guest bedroom. I think it looks lovely.

  1. I think the nicest way to put it is that you have very grandmotherly tastes.

  2. Why are you asking for opinions just to ignore them?

  3. Looks like it would make a lot of noise. Which I suppose that could be a good thing in a guest bedroom. It might keep various activities to a minimum. But then again, that depends on your guests.

Kind of looks like a bed my wife would pick out also. I don't put to much input into that sort of stuff.

  4. You are a teaser.
Why ask audience to choose ?

  6. re: Melinda. Aw. I was swayed! But in the end I just liked A too much.

  7. The one you bought doesn't look at all as bright-yellow-brass as the one you showed us. (But even so, I would still prefer B, even if it is moot now.)

  8. as a fellow engineer girl, i totally support ur choice of bed. Come'on the B is too drama queen style, who would otherwise prefer to sleep with butterflies instead of a normal nicely made bed?

  9. Don't blame us; we voted for Kodos! (Except for the three of us that didn't, I guess.)

  10. paint the room some earthy color. move the bed away from the side wall. Get a bed skirt, some pillow covers and stay away from large prints on the linen. you will be fine. And let the people whining about you choosing "A" know that an opinion is not binding, only an opinion. Next time in a small room, go for a lower bed. :-)
