i think that was set in Montana

Dan and I ate scrambled eggs today at St. Michael's Alley. When the bill came, we flipped a coin to decide who would pay, as is our tradition. Afterwards, I was examining the quarter he used.

Me: "Wyoming is the Equality State?"

Dan: "I guess so."

Me: "Do they allow gay marriage? I doubt it. Is this supposed to be a gay cowboy on the quarter?"

Dan: "There was a movie about this."

Me: "What was it called: 'The Gay Cowboy'?"

Dan: "No. 'Brokeback Mountain'."

  1. I think a more appropriate movie would be "The Matthew Shepard Story."

It's old school equality; Wyoming was the first territory/state to allow women to vote, had the first woman governor (back in 1925), and other various "first woman to [hold particular office]" type things.

  3. Yeah, we took out our androids during brunch and googled for "Wyoming equality state". Btw, hope you are doing well, Tom Galloway. Nice to hear from you. :)

  4. It would have been Gay Cowboys. Plural. The plot would have been even more tragic if it had been singular.
