As well, he's an American (like Niniane and Tom) _and_ he's now taken the crown three straight years. So there's a few reasons to root for him. OTOH, Kobayashi revolutionized the, uh, "sport".

Hey Niniane, have you heard of the 'Black Widow' - Sonya Thomas? She's like Kobayashi - small & thin, but a champion eater.ArChttp://ofb.net/~andrewc/serenepia/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6230750.post-88408670542834675832009-07-04T23:56:29.762-07:002009-07-04T23:56:29.762-07:00@writer - maybe Tom is cheering for the hometown h...@writer - maybe Tom is cheering for the hometown hero... Dear lord, Chestnut ate 68 hot dogs this year, and in 10 minutes. All hot dog contests prior to 2008 had 12 minute durations. We can therefore suggest that Chestnut might have been able to break the _70_ dog limit if he'd had 12 minutes...ArChttp://ofb.net/~andrewc/serenepia/noreply@blogger.com
